⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🔥🔥🔥

“My first plan doesn’t seem to be working.” Julia sighed. “Time for my second strategy: knock some fellow on the head and place him in a bag.”

My dear dear Lydia… what a fun book you’ve created with your debut novel. Your first time out the gate is a winner. Cinderella and the Duke is positively enchanting. The main characters are wonderful together. A perfect pairing, both a force to be reckoned with. Their banter back and forth…energetic, sarcastic, and at times hilarious. Yes…there’s steam…but it’s tepid.

Gregory Carter, Duke of Ashworth is a rake. From tip to stern. Partaking in his pleasure steering clear of wistful debutantes and match-making mommas…for marriage is not for him. Not now..not ever…that is until he meets a blonde-haired goddess who not only intrigues him…she makes him laugh. She’s clever and unpredictable and something of a novelty. I mean what woman depends her own honor by asking the scoundrel to marry her.

Julia Beaumont is a spinster. Firmly on the shelf. When the opportunity to attend a ball presents itself, Julia decides this is her one and only chance to secure a match. A match she badly needs to escape her horrible stepmother and a life of servitude. But when a kiss from the wicked and deliciously handsome Duke of Ashworth threatens her plans, she does the only think she can think of to save her future…she asks HIM to marry her!

With Cinderella and the Duke, Lydia Drake creates a world filled with wonderful characters, laughter and love. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what she has up next.

Tropes: Spinster, Rake, Marriage of Convenience
